Quiet glad that some of my frens still drop by.. anyway I didnt write much on the trip cos we will be making a gallery on it so a picture says a thousand words yeah? hehe.. and I quite lazy to type them out.. so if you want meet up with me then we talk easier

Anyway some little updates on me? Hmmz.. I got a “job” as web associates with NUS but I have no idea what I will be doing and when and even if I will get any project to work on. Kind of excited cos it is like a door opening up to me now.. hopefully it leads me to the direction I want my life to be.. I will also be ushering the graduation ceremony for 3 days next month.. more income for me.. :cool1

Been rather busy updating my portfolio site and will be working on the gallery.. so sorry if I never sms or msg you online. Anyway, you all got to see my girl if you all have the chance.. she just rebonded her hair! haha.. not as if she is the first to do it but she looks really nice with it.. :yum1 can eat her alive~!

Hmmz I kind of miss backpacking.. next destination will be AUST! Did you know you can get round trip air tickets from here to there for ard 500+ hehe.. who interested to go backpacking end of year with me? ;grin1 that is if my bank account allows.. hehe

Ok.. I shall go back to do some work.. and slp early :sleep1

I with been really excited about this trip.. but there has been several doubts as to how will we communicate.. how will the work go etc.. hope everything goes thru smoothly..

We had a rather heavy or should I say thought provoking discussion today with the group, which boils down to questions like “So what do you intend to bring with you there? What values are you going with? What would you like to gain in the end?”

Then came all the ‘model’ answer like.. “Oh, I think we should bring blah blah blah there so that we can blah blah blah” I was getting bored (again) till some story telling from a woman woke me up a bit. It was about how a foreigner insulted her by calling her “You Asians!” when she worked at a bank. So thru her story, she believed that we should be respectful when we go there as a guest from another country. But a member mention that we should instead be magnanimous (another big word for today), so as not to go down to the same level as the offender.

WRONG! I mean how long can you be magnanimous? 1 day? 1 week? 1 month? Eventually you will not be able to take it also rite? There is a limit to which you can hold it all within you before you finally let loose. I am a firm believer in an-eye-for-an-eye treatment, why should I be respectful if the other party isn’t?
But of course I never raise this up as it is not a ‘model’ answer.

On a side note, one of the project leader bought her daughter called Gaia. She was really cute and the best thing is…. she is not afraid of me! :beam1
This is like a once in a lifetime thing because kids seems to run away when they see me.. and she actually talked to me!! If I have a daughter.. I wish she can be as cute as her..

So what’s the purpose of this story? I did not really have a purpose in writing this.. today section of meeting wasn’t really wasted.. I thought abt my purpose in doing this. My purpose isn’t really for the kids in Myanmar.. selfish me! Instead.. its all abt myself. I wish to develop more.. see more.. hear more.. smell more.. experience a different lifestyle.. live healthly.. meet new people.. new place.. come back a better person.. living a fuller life. Doing charity work or volunteer work is not all about giving.. you take back something with you.. you don’t get from normal living.. I wish that this something is worth it in the end.
